Lucky Dip

Dig deep. All of these galleries show a commitment to undertake work well, and then better.Ok, true - not my cupcakes, and not even about houses..However, they're the work of the girl in last photo... Same attitude to improve and refine at 15 years old.Boundary terrace fence rolling up towards rear for privacyA flat cut brick fan above a window openingGlueing up large curved rafters to complete a curved steel roof structureDurable balustrade - all joints mortice and tenon.Folding Celery Top Pine table.Mechanism closeup. Garden works

Terrace restoration with new picket fence and curved lattice side screens.Screens from previous photo are now turning 20. The garden design is being redone, but the screens are good as new.More durable and effective boundary screening and climbing plant supports for years to come.and again..All curves finger jointed and marine epoxy glued with longevity in focus - always..This welded and galvanised climbing frame will be standing strong for many decades after plants reach the topThese frames are softer in appearance due to surface rusting, but will still achieve a long and sturdy lifeThe previous image before works commenced. A collapsing bluestone stables wall.A clever architect designed balustrade, planter bed and storage unit viewed from street level.and from below..Unit hides service meters and has concealed rope lighting accenting the verticals.A potting shed.A garden shed with sliding lattice screens over shelving either side. From concept, through planning / building approval to completion..Done. Even diamond boring stormwater right through old WC floor.Fence all galvanised on a narrow poured concrete plinth. Nothing to do for many years. This scaffold has been built up through and around a beloved vine. Low impact is always the aim.

Cabinetry

Enduring - photographed 12 years after installation.Curved island moves on castors. Blue push to open doors, and drawers facing kitchen side.Curved doors fabricated, fitted then sent for 2 pack spraying. Curved cornice completes the flow. Some new period panelled doors.Cad plan of a stair cupboard and heating return grille for client approval.and done. Some bedroom cupboard doors at same house. Note bathroom door proportions in previous photo.Edna Walling cottage kitchen underway - I don't think Edna owned a spirit level !A perfect fit.A new kitchen well underway.and complete. The flooring was ugly under the old cabinets in the archway. Matching kauri ready for sander.A custom drawer mock up for a favourite cutlery service.Drawer at glue up stage made in Ironbark. Tape is pulled once glued for a joint requiring no sanding.Drawer test fitted to soft close runners and now outside for oil coat. Green baize cut to card shapes completes the job. Some shaped shelves made for concealed fixing by sliding into position. Final step in a bathroom renovation.

Hello, my name is Andrew,

I’ve been a passionate hands on restoration builder for over 30 years, and now bring that wealth of experience to quality solutions for small building problems. I stand between mainstream builders and handyman – jobs other registered builders consider too small or specialised, and beyond the expertise of handymen.

Quality and durability matter to me.

Your home may have a rotten window, a broken lock, a missing piece of unavailable architrave or cornice, precarious chimney bricks, rising damp, a failing lintel, a squeaky floor, broken cupboard hinges, 6 things the builder left undone or did poorly, a decaying balcony or 1000 more – all can be expertly repaired by one pair of hands with one phone call.

Works typically run from a half day to a month.

I look forward to hearing from you.
